Dear Michiganders, The infrastructure of Michigan roads is in the news and everyone knows they are terrible. This has resulted due to a lack of concern and many years of neglect. Citizens of Michigan will potentially have to pay an additional gas tax says “Michigan’s Governor Snyder.” Stuck between a bad economy and higher costs to live we must now make repairs. If this is any indication of how Michigan legislators have dealt with road maintenance then what do you believe will be gas companies intentions when old and non profitable well pads are abandoned. Left behind to obscure the land site, reeking with remnants of carcinogens. We have seen first hand what has happened in the Gulf of Mexico (more…)

Working in the parameters of short term success developing unity, and coherence gives us insight into the the commonality of events that occur in our lives; emotions that we all feel about the environment; and the things that give our existence meaning. In addition to making us think about human experiences, unnatural global mining (Michigan Fracking) threatens our existence with nature. (BP accident in the Gulf of Mexico). We can not let government dictate or compromise water and air. A comprehensive assessment of proven renewable energy standards frees us from pollution. We need to vindicate government’s apparent disdain of wind and solar power because we are the government. Our Government officials are public servants their standards are vary commonly aggravated with (more…)

Anti-Composting Bills Go Before Senate Committee Tomorrow! House Bills 4265 and 4266 – known as the Anti-Composting Bills – will go before the Michigan Senate Committee on Energy and Technology May 15, 2012. I watched this documentary provided by Nature/PBS and I found it to be very, very interesting. Under the impression that a nuclear Holocaust would bring death to all living things is untrue at present. The historic nuclear accident at Chernobyl is now 25 years old. This film is a must see. You will be astonished by the regrowth of plant life and some species of the region. Although Mother Nature will always have her way in the end it may be she will not allow humans to be apart of her new plan! If you like Nature this is a great late night place to go for good entertainment for children and adults rather than reality shows that overwhelm broadcasting in (more…)

A one-mile stretch of Plainfield Avenue from Leonard to Ann Street is about to undergo a major makeover with the construction of seven bio-retention islands in the median. This $305,000 project has been funded by local business and largely funded by a $146,667 grant from MDOT.
