LOCAL GROUP CLEANS UP Although this news comes late we can be reminded that every day is Earth Day! The day before Earth Day, Saturday, April 21st, dawned chilly and cool, with a sharp breeze out of the northeast. But that was not enough to deter two dozen hardy Hastings area volunteers from gathering at 9am to clean up and beautify a small part of our planet. Under the umbrella name of Pride In Clean Country Roads (PICCR for short), about half of these volunteers were residents of Becker, Woodlawn and Bayne Roads, just northeast of Hastings, where the cleanup took place; the other half were mostly members and family of Hastings Steelworkers Union Local 5965.
