Clean Energy Advocates

Clean Energy Advocates

Working in the parameters of short term success developing unity, and coherence gives us insight into the the commonality of events that occur in our lives; emotions that we all feel about the environment; and the things that give our existence meaning. In addition to making us think about human experiences, unnatural global mining (Michigan Fracking) threatens our existence with nature. (BP accident in the Gulf of Mexico). We can not let government dictate or compromise water and air. A comprehensive assessment of proven renewable energy standards frees us from pollution. We need to vindicate government’s apparent disdain of wind and solar power because we are the government. Our Government officials are public servants their standards are vary commonly aggravated with (more…)

Frack in our Michigan Water _ What?

Frack in our Michigan Water _ What?

What is Frack doing in my water? Listen to what New York citizens have to say!   Dear Comrades, In 2011, the natural gas industry was caught red-handed, secretly pumping over 32 million gallons of diesel fuel into the ground — and threatening our drinking water! In response, EPA has released draft regulations for the use of diesel in fracking. However, we need EPA to take it a step further and ban the use of diesel and diesel by-products in fracking fluids. Will you help get 25,000 letters to EPA Administrator Lisa Jackson to show widespread support for a ban on diesel? Tears of Time

All the lovely world, Environmental concern laments the fact that time is running out.  May you aspire to “Julian Lennon” a remarkably passionate person, whose tout ensemble is highly characteristic of “Imagine All the People” – John Lennon More than a striking resemblance to his father “John Lennon” Julian brings back hope seasoned with an empathetic non- resolved quest  to protect our environment.  Devoted to philanthropic endeavors, most notably his own White Feather Foundation and the Whaledreamers Organization, both of which promote the co-existence of all species and the health and well-being of the Earth. The rising number of significant unnatural catastrophes  fails to  encapsulate time as it unforgivably passes by our failure to dream.  Casting a dream to enrich (more…)

The Realistic Value

Calculation P2: Recyclability of products = Sum for each product (Weight of a product unit x Proportion of recyclable content x Units produced) / Sum for each product (Weight of a product unit x Units produced)  x 100 Unit of the indicator: percent. Why this indicator is important The realistic value in contrast to the intentional use of a product should be designed to be recycled, reused, re manufactured, composted or biologically degraded to reduce the demand for non-renewable resources and to keep the products out of the (landfill) waste stream.  Given current recycling technology, this perspective is rarely addressed. For example, as much as one third by weight of the life of an automobile ends up as “unusable waste” (more…)

Local Artists Dumpster Dive!

Most people (if not, in fact, everyone) can’t get their minds around just how big ideas can transform waste into recreation and can be environmentaly ambiguous. We would like to honor some of the local artists in our community by showing their work, they have taken something ordinary and made it into a true work of art! When we saw this piece in front of the Devos center in Grand Rapids we just had to get a picture of it. We are not sure if this was part of the GR festival or Artprize. This shows what local people can do re-using, re-cycling everyday materials, being locals ourselves we love to take opportunities like this to share with the rest (more…)

Weighing in on Aerosol Cans

Weighing in on aerosol cans is a real problem. In hopes to provide general waste management guidance on aerosol cans “wastes” the discussion on “empty” aerosol containers due to the need to be more self governing. Empty aerosol cans that are household waste are not considered hazardous waste. Federal Requirements for Aerosol Can Disposal Here are a two points vaguely derived in part from federal regulations that many states have incorporated into their rules for aerosol cans: Paradox Aerosol cans from households are not a regulated hazardous waste. Since the regulatory status of a waste is determined at the point of generation (the household), the waste remains nonhazardous once it comes into the possession of the local waste collection department.
